Who and what this covers
This policy describes the official Unforge website and the Unforge 0.4.1 local application maintained by Viiberr1128. It does not describe the practices of forks, apps you build, or independent services you connect. “We” means the project maintainer.
There is no Unforge account, central workspace database, telemetry endpoint, advertising system, or automatic crash-reporting service operated by this project. We do not receive your workspace simply because you install or use Unforge.
When you visit the website
The website is a collection of static pages and downloads hosted through Cloudflare Pages. Its authored pages have no forms, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, remote fonts, or third-party embeds.
Delivering a website still involves network information. Cloudflare processes requests, which can include your IP address, requested URL, browser and device information, and traffic or security information. The maintainer can access hosting traffic statistics and available security records to operate the site and investigate abuse. This is separate from app telemetry. Cloudflare explains its processing, international transfers, and retention in its Privacy Policy.
We do not sell visitor information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use website activity to train an AI model. See the Cookie Policy for browser storage and hosting protections.
When you use the local app
Unforge stores managed project files, Git history, drafts, AI requests, saved output and proposals, operation records, settings, and supported local app data in your selected workspace on your computer. The interface also stores display preferences and temporary operation state in local browser storage.
AI job records survive app restarts and are included in encrypted workspace backups. They may contain private project context. Clearing browser storage does not delete these records.
The maintainer cannot browse that workspace, reset its passphrase, or recover it for you through a central account. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete workspace folders or copies stored elsewhere.
Local storage is not the same as encrypted storage. Your working files, local records, Git bundles, and recovery capsules may contain readable code, secrets, or personal data. Device access controls and disk encryption matter. The encrypted workspace backup feature is a separate protection.
When data leaves your computer
- AI proposals: choosing an optional Codex or Subscription Fleet job uses tools and accounts installed on your computer. Requests and relevant project context may be sent to the configured provider. Its account settings, data-use rules, retention, and fees apply. Unforge does not supply a shared provider account.
- Cloud backups: when you select a synced iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or other destination, your storage software uploads encrypted backup files using your own account. The provider still handles account, transfer, file-size, and other service metadata. Storage and sharing settings remain yours to control.
- Project commands: code you choose to run can contact its own services or transmit data. Unforge is not a sandbox for untrusted software and cannot impose this privacy policy on your projects.
- Downloads and development: fetching dependencies or tools contacts their distributors. Following a GitHub link or reporting an issue uses GitHub, under its Privacy Statement.
Installing Unforge does not grant access to the maintainer’s accounts, and it does not grant the maintainer access to yours. Review the settings and policies of each provider before sharing sensitive material.
Optional contributions
Optional one-time contributions use Stripe-hosted checkout. Checkout opens on Stripe only after you follow the payment link; no Stripe script or payment form is embedded here.
Stripe processes payment, contact, device, and transaction information under its Privacy Policy. The maintainer can access transaction records Stripe provides, including an email or name if collected, amount, status, and limited payment-method details. Our website and local application do not receive your full card number or security code.
We use contribution records to administer payments, answer private payment-support requests, handle refunds or disputes, prevent abuse, and meet accounting or legal obligations. Contributions do not subscribe you to marketing or publish your identity. Records are retained only as needed for those purposes and applicable obligations; Stripe has its own retention requirements. For payment questions or refund requests, email support@unforge.app.
Contributing does not transmit your local workspace, link it to a donor account, or change the app’s privacy settings. See Support Unforge for contribution details.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
You control local workspaces and backup destinations. Files remain until you remove them; Git history and backup copies can retain earlier content after a working file changes. Current automatic backups do not prune recovery points automatically. Removing the app or a cloud-synced copy does not guarantee that every other copy is erased.
There is no central Unforge workspace copy to request deletion of. Before deleting your only copy, verify an independent backup. Remove cloud copies and revoke provider access through the relevant provider when appropriate.
Hosting records follow Cloudflare’s applicable settings and retention; we do not promise a universal deletion period. Information you voluntarily put in a GitHub issue or contribution may remain in public project history and third-party copies. Do not submit sensitive data. We use such submissions to respond, maintain the project, and document fixes, and retain them while needed for those purposes or legal obligations.
Where data-protection law applies, operating and protecting the site and responding to requests are our legitimate interests; a legal obligation may also require processing. Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a copy of personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. These rights concern information actually held and are subject to applicable law.
Questions, requests, and changes
Email support@unforge.app for privacy questions, personal-information requests, or payment help. Send only what is needed to understand your request; do not include passwords, full card details, or private workspace files. We may ask for limited information to verify a request before disclosing or changing personal records. Security vulnerabilities can be reported through GitHub’s private vulnerability reporting.
Support correspondence is handled through Apple’s iCloud Mail. Apple processes email content, attachments, addresses, and delivery information to provide that service under its Privacy Policy. We use the information you send to address your request and keep it only as needed for support, dispute resolution, or applicable legal obligations. Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing.
We do not intentionally request children’s personal information through this site. If you believe personal information has been disclosed inappropriately, email the support address so it can be addressed privately.
We will update this page when our practices change and display the effective date above. New data collection requires updating the product and this notice; this policy is not permission to collect information silently.
